Toddlers
Children from 12 months to 30 months
This is a perfect age for exploring! In the Toddler Room, our first priority is to provide a nurturing and safe environment. We recognize that each child is an individual and we strive to accommodate his or her own personal needs and differences. Some skills needed to participate in the Toddler Room:
school lunch/"big people" food
use a sippy cup (no bottle)
1 nap/day (naptime pacifier only)
waling in outside shoes

The Team gives much thought to each child's readiness to "graduate" from one class to the next. We would like to expand the "window of time" during which children move up and focus more on issues of readiness than on chronology. This applies to the transition between Toddler and Jr. Preschool.
As the child approaches 2.5 years, we will assess:

Language development (ability to communicate)
Physical coordination
Ability to follow directions
Emotional security (adaptation to program)
Social Development
Toilet Training
